Life Science Centre

Times Square, NE1 4EP

One of the most mesmerising indoor attractions in Newcastle is the award-winning Life Science Centre, which includes the biggest planetarium in the North of England. The Centre is a scientific and educational museum as well as an advanced science centre with laboratories and offices for scientists and educators.

Crazy golf

Crazy golf is super popular in Newcastle, and there are quite a few sites to choose from! Including Mr Mulligan's Space Golf (117 Newgate St, NE1 5RZ) offers three family-friendly space-themed courses.

You will find an adventure golf course, bowling, table tennis, and pool tables at Lane 7 (80-90 St James' Blvd, NE1 4BN). There's also a burger place inside (because winning takes a lot of effort!). Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult when visiting Lane 7.

Ghetto Golf (The Clay Shed Hoult's Yard, Walker Rd, NE6 2HL) Only those over the age of 18 are allowed to play on this 18-hole crazy golf course and cocktail bar. There will be spectacular neon graffiti, DJs, delectable burgers, and great artwork all over the place.

Newcastle Cathedral

St Nicholas Square, NE1 1PF

This 14th-century mediaeval building has a gorgeous and unusual lantern tower above it. A 17th-century great hall and beautiful stained-glass windows are also on display. The cathedral is open every day, and entrance is free. It is located just beside to Newcastle Castle.

Biscuit Factory

16 Stoddart Street, NE2 1AN

The Biscuit Factory is a former Victorian warehouse that currently houses the UK's largest independent commercial art, craft, and design gallery, with over 250 artists' works at any given moment. Paintings and prints, as well as pottery, textiles, photography, furniture, design-led homewares, and even jewellery, are among the various pieces available. The public is welcome to visit from Wednesday through Sunday, and entrance is free!

Newcastle Castle

The Black Gate, Castle Garth, NE1 1RQ

It's easy to see why Newcastle received its name from its majestic Norman fortification, which is only a short walk from the city's central station. Newcastle Castle has a remarkable history, dating back to William the Conqueror and serving as a site where "armies gathered, and criminals were imprisoned and executed." It's a family-friendly spot with beautiful interior architecture and a wonderful view of the city and the Tyne River from the top.
