When you book a weekend away, you want to leave any cooking responsibilities at home. Staycations are a time for enjoying a new location which means indulging (or sometimes overindulging) in the local cuisines – and why not? While you soak up everything Middlesbrough has to over while staying in our serviced apartments, spend some time enjoying the wide range of restaurants and street food. Here is Dream Apartment’s guide to Middlesbrough food scene.
1. Central Park bar and restaurant
Located on Linthorpe Road close by to our serviced apartments in Middlesbrough, the Central Park bar and restaurant is a popular spot with the locals in the North East. The venue serves breakfast, lunch and dinner so it’s perfect for whatever occasion!
2. Turtle Bay
If you want to pretend, you’re in the Caribbean and not the UK, then Turtle Bay can give you all the vibes! Serving breakfast, bottomless brunch, lunch, dinner or just some delicious drinks, Turtle Bay has an exciting menu to explore. Their bottomless brunch is iconic in various locations across England which consists of 2 hours of unlimited cocktails, mocktails, prosecco or craft beer! You can also enjoy their boozy brunch menu which also caters for vegans.
3. The Southfield
Located in the centre of Teesside University campus, The Southfield is home to tasty craft beers and ciders which you won’t find anywhere else. The bar is renowned for its huge beer garden which is the perfect spot when the sun is belting down. They not only serve a range of beers but also a divine menu from breakfast to lunch (and even bottomless brunch!).
4. Persian Cottage
As a top rated restaurant in Middlesbrough, Persian Cottage serves the best Persian and Mediterranean cuisine alongside great service. The restaurant also caters for children so don’t worry about catering for picky eaters, they have it covered!
5. Fellinis
Fellinis offers a mixture of classic Italian dishes from pizzas to pasta as well as locally sourced seafood dishes such as Lobster & Prawn spaghetti. The restaurant is really as good as it sounds and is located on the same road as our serviced apartments. This means you can even enjoy a nice bottle of wine and walk a short distance back to your apartment!
6. Chadwicks Inn
Chadwicks Inn is situated in the quiet village of Maltby but is a traditional country pub with an award-winning reputation for great food and atmosphere. Their menu serves locally sourced food which won the restaurant a Michelin star back in 2019. So, if that doesn’t tell you something, you’re missing out!
