About the Area
During the industrial revolution h, the construction of a railway track spelt doom for the stone house of worship. Tremors from passing trains gradually shook the building apart, leaving the community no choice but to tear it down. Today, we’d like to think we’ve honoured its heritage with 26 beautiful canal side apartments.
Some say Amsterdam is more like a village than a city. This holds especially true for Bickerseiland, just northwest of Central Station. Surrounded by canals, crossed with narrow streets and dotted with local shops, galleries and restaurants, Bickerseiland offers that unique piece of quiet in a city storm.
