If you are a keen Liverpool FC fan, then the Anfield Stadium Tour is something you shouldn't miss! Dream Apartments Silkhouse Court is conveniently located in the heart of Liverpool City Centre, making it the perfect place to stay to capture the exciting attractions Liverpool has to offer, including the famous stadium tour. Let's find out why this tour is worth the visit...
The New Anfield Stadium Tour
The stadium tour has altered dramatically throughout the years, and it has even changed in the past two years since the new Main Stain was completed. The new Main Stand, which was built two years ago, is stunning, with all of the modern amenities one would expect from one of the world's most popular football teams.
When you arrive at the stadium for the tour, look for the area with a sign that says "Stadium Tour." This is near the Kop, just outside the Main Stand. The Anfield Retail shop is also located just across from the Stadium Tour check-in area. You can check in and receive more information if you've pre-booked your trip (more on that below).
When you check-in, you'll be given a gadget (seen below) that will lead you through various aspects of the stadium tour. There will be stadium staff members who can answer any questions and point you on the appropriate route throughout the tour.
The tour begins by taking you up the Main Stand's several escalators. The several escalators you'll use offer perspective on how large the new stand truly is. There are also several interesting banners to look at on the wall as you ascend the escalators.
When you reach the top level, you will be escorted to the area where fans will congregate and order food on match days before kick-off and at half-time. The new Main Stand is stunning, so take it all in! There are several photo opportunities here and much to listen to on the self-guided gadget. You'll next be escorted to the higher level of the Main Stand, where you'll get a panoramic view of the whole pitch and even sections of the city!
If it's crowded during your tour, you'll only have approximately 10 minutes to take shots on the top level of the Main Stand, so make the most of it!
The Anfield crew will begin directing you to the lower level of the Main Stand (or use the lift). You'll come across the area where the players' families and close friends will dine and hang out before the game. All of the seats have legends' names on the back, and the numbers appear to indicate the number of international caps each player has had for their national country.
The press room and players' changing rooms are the favourites of the tour. The changing area appears to be flamboyant and is a must-see. You'll eventually get to walk out on the pitch after visiting the press room and the players' changing rooms. Of course, you must first touch the renowned Anfield sign on the way.
You'll have lots of photo opportunities once you get to the pitch. You can snap the Kop, the King Kenny Stand, and Anfield Road from the bottom of the Main Stand. Then you'll proceed to the Kop to photograph the King Kenny Stand, Anfield Road, and the new Main Stand. You'll be able to see how massive the new Main stand is once you're in the Kop!
